Gérard
Gasparian Pianist und
Komponist Born in 1960 in Erevan, Gérard Gasparian played his first works at the
age of eleven in Moscow and Kiew. He arrived in France in 1974 and entered
the CNR of Marseille the same year. In 1976 he entered the CNSM of Paris,
where he was awarded several first prizes and diplomas. He studied piano with
Pierre Barbizet, Germaine Mounier, Muza Rubackyte, Jeannine Vieuxtemps,
Ventsislav Yankoff, chamber music with Geneviéve Joy, composition with
Jacques Castérède, Michel Decoust, Jacques Charpentier and orchestra conducting
with Sergiu Celibidache. Gérard Gasparian is playing recitals and chamber music concerts in
Paris (Salle Gaveau), on France Musique Radio, in Venice (Fenice), in Geneva
(Victoria Hall) … He is regularly invited to perform in the European festivals:
Saint Julien le Pauvre, Flaine, Le Vigan, Albret in France, as well as
Concentus Moraviae (Czech Republik), Val d’Aulnay, “Promenades à travers le
20ème siècle musical” Festival in the Sylvia Monfort Theatre, “Les Beaux
jardins d’été de Meyrin” Festival in Switzerland, at the World Congress of
Saxophone in Valencia (Spain). He toured Yugoslavia with solo recitals and
performed as soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nijni-Novgorod
(Russia, 2001, 2002, 2004), and the Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra
(2004) in concertos by Beethoven (5), Liszt (1,2), Ravel (in Sol),
Rachmaninov (1,4) … In the same time Gérard Gasparian has built up an extensive career as
a composer. He obtained commissions from the CNSM of Paris, from the Duo
Portejoie-Lagarde, from the Quartet of Jean Ledieu, from the Horn Ensemble
Les Hauts-de-France, from de Sylvia Monfort theatre for its French Music
Festival in March 1999. He is collaborating with
artists such as Roland Daugareil, Hervé Joulain, Henri Demarquette, Mari Kobayashi,
Jean Ter-Merquerian, Frédéric Chaslin, Emmanuelle Ophèle, Hidéki Nagano,
Alexandre Skulsky, Serguei Markarov, Sacha Rojdestvensky, Elena Vassilieve,
Sylvie Hue, Diastéma quartet, … who created and recorded his works. These
works are played in France, Italy, Rumania, Norway, Spain, Switzerland,
Armenia, (Japan Music Festival in 2000) … Gérard Gasparian is teaching piano at the Noisy-le-Grand’s Music
School as a tenured teacher, as well as in the Conservatories of Paris 8th
and 17th. He is regularly
invited to teach piano in the summer Academies such as the International
Music training course of Narbonne, Flaine Muique, the European Academy
“Euphonia”, the International Academy of Music in Mende and the “Rencontres
International du Grand Nancy”. He is also member of the jury for national and International
Competitions, as well as for Competitive Examinations controlled by the
